Queen Victoria

20/12/2018

James Hare is delighted to share that ITV's Queen Victoria's wedding dress and bridesmaids' dresses were made from James Hare's Duchesse Satin, 31255/01, and Palmyra Sheer, 31546/01.

Costume designer Rosalind Ebbutt explained how the bridesmaids' dresses were created from the late Queen's drawings found in her diary. Cosprop one of the world's leading costumiers for film, theatre and television is responsible for the construction of this beautiful wedding dress. The costume will be on display as part of the exhibition 'Tales of the Wedding Dress, From Hand Made To World Stage' at Cannon Hall Museum and Gardens from the 26th of May until the 3rd of September. We are all looking forward to watching the second series of Victoria this autumn.
